Enchanting Forest Photography: Exploring Hidden Trails in Italy

Welcome to "Forests and Trails," a personal photo album dedicated to my explorations of the Italian wilderness. • Camera and Lens: The majority of these photographs were captured using a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV paired with either a Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM lens or a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM lens. This combination allowed for flexibility in capturing both wide landscapes and intimate details.
• Lighting Challenges: Photographing in dense forests presented constant lighting challenges. The dappled sunlight created high contrast, requiring careful attention to exposure and dynamic range. I often utilized techniques like bracketing and HDR to capture the full spectrum of light and shadow.
• Geographic and Historical Context: These images span various regions of Italy, each with its own unique history and ecological significance. From the ancient Roman roads that crisscross the Apennines to the centuries-old chestnut groves of the Tuscan hills, the trails I followed were often steeped in history.
